Do you remember my post on the greatest duos on cinema? Well, here’s an amazing one on a music video! David Bowie and Tilda Swinton!! I mean, really… could it get any better than this??

Video synopsis: Swinton and Bowie play a well settled happy couple. When they make their usual visit to the grocery store they’re being stalked by two celebrities they just read about on the paper. A rock band moves in next door and oddly notices the all sorts of unusual things happen.

Tilda Swinton and David Bowie are both well known for their iconic androgynous style which is being strongly emphasized on the video. The band’s lead singer, played by Norwegian model Iselin Steiro, is actually a young Bowie, when one of the stalking celebrities, played by model Saskia de Brauw, constitutes an obvious Swinton look. I love the young and old plays here, it’s as if the middle-aged couple are being haunted by their past selves. The bit where Swinton is exercising in front on the TV and is suddenly interrupted the presence of the mocking celebrities is just fantastic and, in my opinion, presents her cross-sexual style, as one is a woman and the other (supposedly) a man. Brilliant!

Tilda Swinton is like a goddess to me. No matter what she does and who she plays, she’s just so friggin’ amazing it’s almost boring. Her ability to step in every role, and her androgynous look… can you seriously not appreciate the woman? An actress, a model, an exhibitor. To me, she’s an inventor of art!! David Bowie… is David Bowie… I mean, it’s all in the name, isn’t it? What can I say about this man? A shape-shifter? A multi talented god? A genius? All of the above!!! I have much admiration for him since I was 6 years old, and I am, to put it mildly, a fan. David Bowie manages to astonish me no matter what he does. His documented styles spreading upon 5 decades, his deep sexy voice, his unforgotten characters, and I’m just hooked, hence, me creating a Bowie page.
