Tap, Tap, Tap!

It’s been a while since I’ve properly paid attention to my blog. I love reviewing films and music, but it can get a little mundane as I am cursed with getting bored easily and not being able to stick to one thing. And so I thought perhaps it’s time to spice things up a bit by covering all sorts of other stuff I love doing and thinking about… especially now that I have free time in abundance!

free-time

I’ve decided to do something special for myself. A little gift, if I may, to compensate for my recent unemployment situation. I’ve had this desire to go back to dancing for some time now, but always found a good excuse to postpone it; too much work, too much dating, too much hassle, etc. I finally took the initiation and began searching the net for Tap dancing lessons. Why Tap dancing, you ask? Just because it’s very very cool! Learning how to Tap dance is a great way for someone to refresh their daily routine. Tap dancing is slightly unconventional here in Israel, and like the unconventional person that I am, it seemed like the PERFECT choice. I won’t lie… the coolest part about learning how to Tap dance is buying the shoes. Awesome shoes! I found a pair on sale which is even more awesome, because if I ever decided to drop out, at least I know I didn’t spend that much money on Tap shoes. I love me a good bargain like the next girl.

Check out my NEW SHOES!!! And they have little black bow ties… cute, eh?

I was a little anxious while waiting for the first class to start… Well, it’s been a while since I last attended a dance class. I was afraid I would stumble and fall and everyone would point and laugh at me, however, the opposite happened. Everyone was SOOOO nice! The class ended and I stepped out of the studio waving my credit card, yelling at the receptionist to “SIGN ME UP, GIRL!”

I’m attending the second class this evening, and I can’t wait! I’m smiling throughout the entire thing and I think my teacher really appreciates my having fun. Haha, he called me a dancer. A DANCER!! That felt really good. What an awesome dude…

Tonight I have a chance to break in my new shoes, properly strike the floor and make some tapping sounds. Oh, yeah! God knows I have a lot of aggression to release, and what a better way to do so than to take it out on the floor (who needs boxing?). I will, however, need to embrace some style and grace as to not disgrace the art and reputation of Tap dancing.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll enjoy my new niche of writing about other stuff. I’m obviously not neglecting the film reviews arena completely, just letting in another light to my life 🙂

A little bonus

And now for something completely different…
